Tell the WI DNR: Shut Down the Line 5 Pipeline

This oil pipeline is dangerous. We need to shut it down now.

Enbirdge's Line 5 Pipeline pumps 22,680,000 gallons of oil through Wisconsin and 2 Great Lakes every single day. If a spill were to happen it would mean catastrophe for millions of people who rely on our Great Lakes for their drinking water, but also plant life and animal life could be altered for generations if spawning water areas are destroyed.

Enbridge was responsible for the largest inland oil spill in US history back in 2010 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Don't let Wisconsin be next. Line 5 runs through a Native American reservation in northern Wisconsin, and Enbridge has illegally been on their land since 2013. Several judges have ruled in favor of the tribe in recent months, and we are very close to shutting this pipeline down for good.

Oh and don't worry: this pipeline is not used for gasoline, so gas prices will not go up if we shut it down. In fact, none of the contents of this pipeline are used for energy or gas production in Wisconsin. Our people, our waters, and our futures are at risk for something Wisconsinites don't even use.

The WI Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has the authority to shut this pipeline down now! Let's make sure they do.

Sign our petition and say:

“WI DNR Board Members and DNR Secretary Payne: The Line 5 pipeline puts Indigenous lives, wildlife, and our Great Lakes at risk of catastrophe. I urge you to reject Enbridge's Line 5 Pipeline reroute permits and make sure Wisconsin does not see a devastating oil spill at the hands of Enbridge, like what happened in Kalamazoo, MI in 2010.”

Do this for clean water, for Indigenous land rights, for the preservation of our Great Lakes, of our State Parks, and the preservation of our planet for the future people, plants and wildlife that will call it home.

Take one minute and sign our petition to the WI DNR now!
